Alpine Reveries
This piece, “Alpine Reveries”, loosely draws inspiration from visions of a grand mountain and its beautiful landscapes. The opening section introduces the idea, reminiscent of an early morning as everything is waking up. The “dance” section vaguely depicts a village beneath the mountain and the happenings throughout it. After, the mood suddenly changes, which signifies a storm incoming. The intensity builds until it is all released in a bombastic shower of sound. Finally, the storm ends and rays of light are cast through as the beautiful day begins to emerge again. A final look at the grandeur of the landscape is presented with the final section of music, being very grand and broad.
