The Leblanc 352 contra-alto clarinet suffers from a serious compromise: the bell used is the exact same as the Leblanc 342. The problem is that by using the same bell as the contrabass clarinet, the position of the tone holes right before the bell had to be shrunk, resulting in a very poor low E that is stuffy and difficult to play. In fact, low E and Eb tend around 40 cents flat with the stock bell!
This bell aims to correct the stuffy low E, as well as improving the intonation of both low E and Eb. Installation is easy and requires no permanent modification to your instrument. An adjustment screw is utilized on the mechanism for easy adjustments.
